Depuis sa toute premi\u00e8re comp\u00e9tition, o\u00f9 elle a vu un co\u00e9quipier se qualifier pour les Championnats du monde, Hilary Stellingwerff a h\u00e2te de voir jusqu\u2019o\u00f9 elle pourra se rendre. Depuis, elle a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs Championnats canadiens et est mont\u00e9e sur le podium du 1500\u00a0m \u00e0 huit reprises cons\u00e9cutives. Elle d\u00e9tient notamment des m\u00e9dailles d\u2019or remport\u00e9es en 2007 et 2008, cinq m\u00e9dailles d\u2019argent remport\u00e9es en 2005-2006, 2009, 2011-2012 et une m\u00e9daille de bronze gagn\u00e9e en 2010.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir donn\u00e9 naissance \u00e0 son fils Theo en juin 2014, elle a repris la comp\u00e9tition en 2015, mais a d\u00fb mettre fin rapidement \u00e0 sa saison en raison d\u2019une fracture de stress au p\u00e9ron\u00e9 gauche. En 2016, elle est remont\u00e9e sur le podium national lorsqu\u2019elle a termin\u00e9 au 3e<\/sup> rang du 1500\u00a0m. Apr\u00e8s avoir fait ses d\u00e9buts aux Championnats du monde de l\u2019IAAF en 2007, Hilary a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 ses premiers Jeux olympiques en 2012<\/a>. Elle a surmont\u00e9 un empoisonnement alimentaire pour ensuite r\u00e9aliser un record personnel \u00e0 une \u00e9preuve de la Diamond League, \u00e0 Rome, pour obtenir son billet olympique. \u00c0 Londres, elle est pass\u00e9e en demi-finales du 1500\u00a0m.<\/p>\n

\u00c0\u00a0propos de Hilary<\/h2>\n

Famille\u00a0:<\/strong> Ses parents se nomment Claire Letang et Mark Edmondson. Son fr\u00e8re cadet s\u2019appelle Joseph Letang. Son mari, Trent Stellingwerff, est son entra\u00eeneur et physiologue sportif qui se sp\u00e9cialise dans la nutrition de performance. Son fils Theo est n\u00e9 en juin 2014. D\u00e9buts\u00a0:<\/strong> Elle a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 courir \u00e0 10\u00a0ans et \u00e0 faire de la comp\u00e9tition \u00e0 16\u00a0ans. Elle a eu des enseignants et des entra\u00eeneurs qui lui ont donn\u00e9 la confiance de poursuivre tandis que sa m\u00e8re l\u2019a toujours encourag\u00e9e \u00e0 tout essayer et \u00e0 se fixer des objectifs. Au-del\u00e0 de l\u2019athl\u00e9tisme\u00a0: <\/strong>Elle aime \u00eatre dehors, dans la nature, et courir dans la for\u00eat et faire de la randonn\u00e9e. Elle aime faire la cuisine et voyager. Elle a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le journalisme et les communications de masse \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 du Wisconsin \u2013 Madison. Elle a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 pour \u00eatre enseignante \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Western et travaille comme enseignante. Elle est entra\u00eeneure adjointe \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Victoria. C\u2019est Haile Gebrselassie qui l\u2019inspire de par son attitude positive et sa confiance en lui in\u00e9branlable, malgr\u00e9 les hauts et les bas.
