Il devient ainsi le premier Canadien a remport\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille \u00e0 ces Championnats du monde au 10 000 m. Bloemen, d\u00e9tenteur du record du monde sur cette distance, \u00e9tabli cette saison \u00e0 Salt Lake City en novembre,\u00a0n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 devanc\u00e9 que par le N\u00e9erlandais Sven Kramer. Bloemen a r\u00e9ussi un temps de 12 min 59,69 s, alors\u00a0que Kramer a r\u00e9ussi\u00a0un chrono de 12:56,77. Un autre N\u00e9erlandais, Erik Jan Kooiman a pris la troisi\u00e8me marche du podium. Il s&rsquo;agit du premier top-10 en carri\u00e8re sur la sc\u00e8ne internationale senior pour l&rsquo;athl\u00e8te de 20 ans originaire d&rsquo;Ottawa. L\u2019autre Canadienne en piste, Ivanie Blondin a termin\u00e9 au 17<sup>e<\/sup> rang avec un chrono de 4:15,52. La Tch\u00e8que Martina Sablikova (4:03,05) a remport\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9preuve par huit centi\u00e8mes de seconde devant la championne olympique, la N\u00e9erlandaise Ireen Wust (4:03,30).
