Le Parc olympique de Whistler est le lieu du biathlon, du saut \u00e0 skis, du combin\u00e9 nordique et du ski de fond (60 km de pistes) pour les Jeux olympiques et paralympiques d\u2019hiver 2010. Et le Centre de glisse de Whistler accueillera les comp\u00e9titions de bobsleigh, de luge et de skeleton et offrira aussi de l\u2019entra\u00eenement potentiel \u00e0 long terme apr\u00e8s 2010.<\/p>\n

Mais l\u2019h\u00e9ritage le moins connu, et un tr\u00e8s important pour les athl\u00e8tes de haute performance, est le Centre des athl\u00e8tes de Whistler. Dans l\u2019avenir, les athl\u00e8tes canadiens peuvent obtenir de l\u2019h\u00e9bergement \u00e0 des prix bien en-dessous du march\u00e9. Les installations construites pour les Jeux 2010 deviendront du logement pour les athl\u00e8tes qui voudront s\u2019entra\u00eener \u00e0 Whistler aussi longtemps qu\u2019ils le veulent. Le centre offre 20 maisons de ville (deux et trois chambres) ainsi qu\u2019un chalet de style dortoir avec 100 chambres (deux lits par chambre). En tout, le Centre des athl\u00e8tes pourra accueillir facilement jusqu\u2019\u00e0 250 athl\u00e8tes en tout temps. Les athl\u00e8tes ont le choix de demeurer dans le chalet pendant une courte p\u00e9riode de temps ou de louer une maison de ville \u2013 compl\u00e8te avec une cuisine, un salon, etc. \u2013 s\u2019ils s\u2019entra\u00eenent \u00e0 Whistler pendant un mois ou plus.<\/p>\n

Un \u00e9difice s\u00e9par\u00e9, appel\u00e9 le Centre de haute performance, offrira deux grands gymnases pour l\u2019entra\u00eenement int\u00e9rieur. Un offrira 4000 pieds carr\u00e9s pour les exercices de force et de conditionnement. L\u2019autre, avec 6000 pieds carr\u00e9s, sera un Centre de gymnastique. Comme tel, le Centre sera pr\u00e9cieux pour les athl\u00e8tes des sports d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 et d\u2019hiver. Il y aura aussi de la place pour de la restauration. Le centre au complet est situ\u00e9 dans le quartier Cheakamus Crossing de Whistler.<\/p>\n

Whistler 2010 Sport Legacies s\u2019assure qu\u2019un excellent complexe existera longtemps apr\u00e8s les Jeux pour les athl\u00e8tes et les \u00e9quipes qui s\u2019entra\u00eeneront, participeront \u00e0 des comp\u00e9titions et vivront dans la r\u00e9gion Sea to Sky.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
