Cette victoire historique a offert au Canada sa toute premi\u00e8re chance de jouer pour la Coupe Billie Jean King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce fut nul autre que Fernandez qui a men\u00e9 les Canadiennes alors qu&rsquo;elles \u00e9taient dos au mur. Apr\u00e8s la d\u00e9faite de Stakusic en deux sets dans son match d&rsquo;ouverture, Fernandez devait se montrer \u00e0 la hauteur face \u00e0 la septi\u00e8me raquette mondiale, Marketa Vondrousova, et c&rsquo;est exactement ce qu&rsquo;elle a fait en remportant le match 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le match de double d\u00e9cisif, c&rsquo;est une fois de plus Fernandez qui s&rsquo;est jumel\u00e9e \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/olympique.ca\/team-canada\/gabriela-dabrowski\/\">Gabriela Dabrowski<\/a> pour d\u00e9crocher la victoire en demi-finale contre un duo favoris\u00e9. Dabrowski est un pilier de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe canadienne. Ses 19 s\u00e9lections historiques \u00e0 la Coupe Billie Jean King remontent \u00e0 une d\u00e9cennie, lorsque le Canada cherchait \u00e0 passer de la zone des Am\u00e9riques au Groupe mondial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Basketball : Les Canadiennes franchissent une \u00e9tape cruciale en vue de Paris 2024 <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe nationale f\u00e9minine de basketball du Canada a remport\u00e9 ses trois matchs lors du Tournoi de qualification pr\u00e9-olympique de la FIBA \u00e0 Medellin, en Colombie, assurant ainsi sa place dans l&rsquo;un des quatre tournois de qualification olympique de la FIBA en f\u00e9vrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9quipe Canada a commenc\u00e9 en force avec une victoire \u00e9crasante de 81-39 contre le Venezuela, suivie d&rsquo;un gain de 70-53 contre le pays h\u00f4te. Ces r\u00e9sultats ont assur\u00e9 leur place parmi les deux meilleures \u00e9quipes, gardant ainsi leur r\u00eave olympique en vie.
