La double championne du monde et championne olympique est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 84 ans, son mari Tom King \u00e0 ses c\u00f4t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9e \u00e0 Ottawa en 1928, elle s\u2019est initi\u00e9e au patinage artistique d\u00e8s ses sept ans. Vingt ans plus tard, en 1948, elle a remport\u00e9 l\u2019or et a suscit\u00e9 la fiert\u00e9 de notre nation. L\u2019\u00ab athl\u00e8te ch\u00e9rie du Canada \u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9e Officier de l\u2019Ordre du Canada et membre de l\u2019Ordre de l\u2019Ontario en 2008 en raison de ses contributions aux sports et aux \u0153uvres de bienfaisance. Elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 admise au Temple de la renomm\u00e9e olympique du Canada, au Temple de la renomm\u00e9e de Patinage Canada et au Temple de la renomm\u00e9e des sports f\u00e9minins internationaux.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Le Comit\u00e9 olympique canadien se joint au reste du Canada pour vivre le deuil de la championne olympique Barbara Ann Scott. De par sa gr\u00e2ce et son humilit\u00e9, Mme Scott se trouvait dans une classe \u00e0 part. Nous n\u2019oublierons jamais ses r\u00e9alisations puisqu\u2019elle a ouvert la voie \u00e0 des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de patineurs et de patineuses artistiques. Barbara Ann Scott est la seule athl\u00e8te canadienne \u00e0 avoir remport\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille d\u2019or historique en patinage artistique f\u00e9minin \u00e0 des Jeux olympiques.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une \u00e9norme perte pour la communaut\u00e9 sportive et bien s\u00fbr pour le pays tout entier.
