Le natif de Sainte-Julie, Qu\u00e9bec a rafl\u00e9 l\u2019or au 500\u00a0m \u00e0 la Coupe du monde de patinage de vitesse sur courte, qui est \u00e9galement une \u00e9preuve test pour les Jeux de Sotchi, avec un chrono de 41,092 secondes. C\u2019est sa huiti\u00e8me m\u00e9daille en neuf courses individuelles cette saison.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est la deuxi\u00e8me fois que Hammelin\u00a0 monte sur la plus haute marche du podium cette ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abC\u2019est une course diff\u00e9rente que j\u2019ai fait en finale, a dit Hamelin. Au 500 m\u00e8tres je pars \u00e0 l\u2019avant ou deuxi\u00e8me, mais au premier tour je fais un d\u00e9passement et je me retrouve en t\u00eate pour le reste de la course. L\u00e0 (aujourd\u2019hui) j\u2019\u00e9tais deuxi\u00e8me et j\u2019ai essay\u00e9 de faire un d\u00e9passement apr\u00e8s deux tours et demi, sans succ\u00e8s. Je savais que ma derni\u00e8re chance \u00e9tait \u00e0 la ligne d\u2019arriv\u00e9e. J\u2019ai pris ma chance. On a fait un finish et j\u2019ai attendu avec impatience.
