King pins: Lavoie and MacLelland strike gold in Pan Am doubles bowling
François Lavoie and Dan MacLelland delivered a strong performance over two days to win the bowling doubles gold medal.
After a dozen games each of 10-pin, the Canadians combined for a score of 5607, with Lavoie scoring 2677 and MacLelland turning in 2930.
Colombia’s Jaime Gonzalez and Manuel Otalora were 318 points behind with 5289 points, and Americans Devin Bidwell and Tommy Jones were third (5203).
Colombia won the women’s event earlier with Canadians Robin Orlikowski and Isabelle Rioux finishing eighth.
There is still singles bowling to take place at TO2015, with qualifying on Friday and the medals handed out after Saturday’s play.
