Win tickets to see Canada’s Walk of Fame tribute show featuring Silken Laumann [GIVEAWAY]
On Saturday, November 7 an athlete with one of the all-time great Canadian comeback stories will receive her star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
Silken Laumann was Canadian rowing royalty in the 1980s and 1990s, her most memorable moment among Canadian sport fans coming at Barcelona 1992, when she returned from badly injury her leg two and a half months earlier to win Olympic bronze in single sculls.
Four years later Laumann went on to win silver in that event at Atlanta 1996. It was the Canadian legend’s third Olympic rowing medal, her first coming at Los Angeles 1984 with her sister Daniele in double sculls.
A tribute show – including a red carpet arrival – will be filmed on Saturday, from 2:45 p.m. ET in Toronto. The show will be aired on television at a later date.
To win a pair of tickets, fans are simply asked to retweet this tweet from @TeamCanada. The 15th account to retweet will be given a pair of tickets to see the 2015 inductees receive their Walk of Fame star. Travel and accommodation not included.
Other great Canadians being inducted include musician Michael Bublé and television personalities Don Cherry and Ron MacLean. A full list and ticket information is available at Canada’s Walk of Fame website.
