Graham DeLaet poised to be caddied by ex-NHLer in Rio
It appears ice hockey player Ray Whitney will once again be representing Canada on the international stage.
The 44-year-old played in four IIHF World Championships with Team Canada, even captaining the 2010 team. He also spent some time with the 1991-92 Canadian national team.

Next month, Whitney, who retired in 2015 after playing 1,330 NHL games with eight different teams, will join Team Canada again – this time its golf squad.
Whitney is expected to be the caddie for Canadian golfer Graham DeLaet at Rio 2016.
“Ray Whitney has been put forward by Graham to caddie for him at the Olympic Games and Golf Canada supports Graham’s decision,” Golf Canada’s Director of Corporate Communications, Dan Pino, told Yahoo! Sports.

Although Canada’s Olympic golf team won’t be nominated until later this month, DeLaet is poised to make the squad. David Hearn (No. 124) and DeLaet (No. 144) are currently in position to represent Canada in the men’s tournament at Rio 2016. The spots are determined by the the world golf rankings.
Men’s golf, which will be played at the Olympic Games for the first time since St. Louis 1904, will be held August 11-14 at Olympic Golf Course.
