Henderson moves into tie for third at Olympic golf tournament
Canada’s Brooke Henderson has moved into a tie for third at the Rio 2016 women’s golf tournament.
Henderson, ranked third in the world, gradually moved up the standings during round two play on Thursday, shooting a 64 to finish at seven-under-par. The Canadian shot a 70 in round one play on Wednesday, which placed her 19th.

The 18-year-old now sits in a tie for third place overall with Great Britain’s Charley Hull at eight-under-par. Inbee Park of South Korea is the current leader at 10-under while Stacy Lewis of the United States is second at nine-under.
After birding on holes five and nine on Thursday, Henderson started to climb up the leaderboard on the back nine. Henderson birdied the 13th along with the final four holes to finish at seven-under.
Meanwhile, Canada’s Alena Sharp shot at 69 on Thursday to finish at two-under-par. Sharp now sits in a tie for 32nd overall heading into the final two days of the tournament.

New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, who entered the tournament as the world No. 1, sits in a tie for 22nd overall at three-under-par.
Round three play takes place Friday morning at Rio’s Olympic Golf Course. The tournament comes to a close on Saturday.
