The Milan stop marks the first of three big air events that will double as FIS freestyle skiing and snowboarding World Cup competitions. The tour’s second event will take place in Mönchengladbach, Germany, before the finale in Quebec. With 15 months until big air makes its Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, riders will be determined to prove they’re among the best in the world.
The competition will begin on Friday with more than 60 freestyle skiers hitting the slopes including Canadians: Alex Bellemare, Teal Harle, Noah Morrison, Alex Beaulieu-Marchand, Evan McEachran and Vincent Gagnier. McMorris and Brooke Voigt will close out the event at they hit the slopes on Saturday.
Milan marks the official start of the pre-Olympic season, so fan can expect athletes to to be bringing their A-Game to the slopes all season, especially McMorris who admitted he has “unfinished business” at the Olympic Games. Canadian fans can live stream the competition on CBC sports.
