Christopher R. Overholt

Chief Executive Officer

Chris Overholt was named Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee in August 2011. In his new role as CEO, Chris Overholt, reporting to the president and the board of directors, will be responsible for leading the organization. He joined the Canadian Olympic Committee in April 2010 in two roles; Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Overholt brings a long career of sports marketing success to the COC, most recently with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. As the Dolphins’ Vice President – Corporate Partnerships and Broadcasting, he was responsible for leading the organization’s efforts in selling corporate sponsorships as well as overseeing all of the team’s radio and television broadcast relationships.

Prior to joining the Dolphins, Overholt served as the Executive Vice President, Business Operations and Chief Marketing Officer of the Bank Atlantic Center and the Florida Panthers Hockey Club from 2003-2005. Previously, he was Vice President, Sales & Service of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. from 1998-2003 where he was responsible for the marketing and ticket sales planning and execution of Canada’s two top professional sports enterprises, the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and the NBA’s Toronto Raptors. Overholt joined MLSEL from the Toronto Raptors, where he had served as the Director, Corporate Marketing from 1996-1998.

Born in Toronto, Overholt is a 1987 graduate of the University of Western Ontario. He also graduated from the Harvard Business School Executive General Managers Program in 2001.
