Canadian Olympic Committee climbs the ranks among the Best Workplaces™ in Canada

TORONTO (April 15, 2021) — The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and the Canadian Olympic Foundation (COF) are proud to be ranked among the Best Workplaces™ in Canada by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada for the second year in a row.

“I’m so proud to see the COC once again be recognized as one of the best places to work in Canada,” David Shoemaker, COC Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General, said. “It speaks to the work we’ve done to help our team stay connected while we pivoted to a virtual workplace, and to our collective commitment to one another during the pandemic. We have grown closer as a result and I am proud of the culture we continue to build together.”

The COC ranked 22nd out of 50 in the 100-999 employee category, moving up from 35th last year. The results are based on the 2020 Trust Index© annual survey results and an independent assessment of the people, programs, and processes by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The 2021 Best Workplaces™ in Canada will be published as a Special National Report in The Globe and Mail on April 16, 2021.

The COC focuses on fostering a purpose-led and high-performance culture while creating opportunities for growth and development.

Earlier this year, the COC was named one of Canada’s 2021 Best Workplaces™ for Women by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. This marked the first such distinction for the COC whose staff is 65 per cent women, including representation at all levels.

The COC, along with the Canadian Olympic Foundation, has 114 permanent employees who primarily work out of offices in Toronto and Montreal.
