Luke Gadsdon

Biography

Luke Gadsdon joined the national team program in 2018 and rowed with the eight at that year’s World Rowing U23 Championships. It was a career highlight to finish fifth with a sub-5:30 time because of the way the Canadian crew came through the repechage with a lineup that changed each race due to illness.

At the 2019 U23 Worlds, Gadsdon and the eight were less than a second from second place in the repechage, just missing the A final. They ended up winning the B final.

In May 2021, Gadsdon made his senior international debut in the four at the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta where they finished second to secure Canada’s spot in the event for Tokyo 2020. In his Olympic debut, he and his teammates finished second in the B final of the four.

Gadsdon rowed at Brock University for three seasons. During that time, he also represented Canada at the 2016 FISU World University Championships, finishing sixth in the men’s four.
