Biography
In his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018, forward Chris Kelly help Team Canada win the bronze medal. In the leadup to PyeongChang 2018, Kelly played for Team Canada at the 2017 Spengler Cup. He has played 833 NHL games for the Ottawa Senators (2003-11, 2016-17) and Boston Bruins (2010-14). He won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011 after playing in the Stanley Cup Final with the Senators in 2007. Kelly missed most of the 2015-16 season after breaking his left femur and undergoing surgery. Returning to the Senators for the 2016-17 season, he played all 82 games. He was signed to a professional tryout by the Edmonton Oilers for 2017-18 but was not offered a contract, leaving him open to return to the Senators and he joined their AHL affiliate in Belleville. Kelly played most of the junior hockey with the OHL’s London Knights from 1997 to 2001, but also suited up for the Sudbury Wolves in 2000-01. He was selected in the third round, 94th overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
