Jason McClintock

Biography

Hailing from a water skiing family, Jason McClintock entered his first national championships at age eight. Joining the national team in 2004, he became the first Canadian to win the overall boys’ title at the world junior championships. He also won gold in slalom and trick. McClintock debuted at the elite world championships in 2005, the same year he won the first of his two straight overall gold medals at the world U21 championships. In March 2007, he shattered his left patella and dislocated his right subtalar joint when he crashed on a jump, taking him off the water for a full season. Afterwards, he decided to focus on his two favourite events, slalom and trick. His career highlight came at the 2009 World Championships where he was part of Canada’s team gold. At Guadalajara 2011 he won silver in slalom and trick. He has been named Waterski and Wakeboard Canada Male Athlete of the Year three times (2004, 2011, 2012).
