Megan Imrie
Biography
Megan Imrie was just six years old when Myriam Bédard won Olympic bronze at Albertville 1992, but that was enough to spark her Olympic dream. Imrie has always found herself glued to the television during the Games, especially for figure skating and gymnastics, but at Vancouver 2010 she was the one that was on television. On her first day of racing at the Games her family made a memory for her by all holding letters that spelled GO MEGAN GO. In her second Games at Sochi 2014, Imrie was the first Canadian woman to ever qualify for the 12.5km mass start and helped the 4x6km relay team earn a best-ever eighth place finish.
Imrie made her debut at the IBU World Championships in 2008. She would also compete at the global championship in 2009 and 2012. Imrie was not named to the world championship team in 2013 but did compete at the World Cup in Sochi that served as the Olympic test event.
