Tiffany Leung (aka B-Girl Tiff) came one spot shy of the podium at the 2023 WDSF Pan American Championships, finishing in fourth place. That came just after she recorded back-to-back top-10 finishes at Breaking for Gold World Series events in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Montpellier, France.
In 2022, Leung achieved a career highlight with her fifth-place finish at the World Games. At the time, she wasn’t prioritizing breaking as much as she was her career at Deloitte. But that result against some of the best in the world made her realize she has what it takes to succeed in breaking and asked Deloitte to sponsor and support her dream.
Leung says she has overcome a huge fear of failure. Following four concussions that forced her to take two years away from the sport and with a demanding fulltime job, she told herself she was at a disadvantage compared to other breakers. But she realized she was making excuses because she was scared of putting in all the effort and then failing to make the Olympic team. After reading a quote that said you shouldn’t ask yourself “what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail” but instead “what is still worth doing even if you do fail”, her heart immediately said breaking.
