Biathlon bolsters Team Canada for Sochi
On Thursday, the Canadian Olympic Team added eight more names to its roster for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
From Biathlon Canada, four men and four women will be making the trip to Russia in February.
The men’s team features two-time Olympian Jean-Philippe Le Guellec (pictured below), who competed at the Games in Turin and Vancouver, along with Brendan Green, Nathan Smith and Scott Perras.
Le Guellec was sixth in the men’s sprint in Vancouver and since then has become the first male Canadian biathlete to win a World Cup event.
Another Turin & Vancouver veteran, Zina Kocher, leads the women’s team consisting of Megan Heinicke, Megan Imrie and Rosanna Crawford. All four women competed in Vancouver.
Kocher is the only Canadian woman to win a women’s World Cup biathlon medal since the great Myriam Bédard.
