Christine Robinson

Biography

Christine Robinson is the veteran of the women’s national team, having been on the squad that competed at Athens 2004, the last time Canada qualified for the women’s Olympic water polo tournament. Prior to that she was captain of the team that won gold at the 2003 FINA World Junior Championships. She has since won two medals at the FINA World Championships, bronze in 2005 and silver in 2009. She is also a two-time silver medallist at the Pan Am Games in 2007 and 2011. Robinson has been part of the Canadian team that has competed at the FINA Water Polo World League Super Final since 2005, including a breakthrough silver medal performance in 2009.

Family: Parents Bruce and Jane Robinson… Brothers Michael, Peter, Andrew… Getting into the Sport: Started playing water polo at age 9… Had gotten bored staring at black lines all day while swimming… Her brother had started playing at a local pool in the summer and she went and fell in love with it… Outside Interests: Graduated from McGill University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology… Enjoys reading, knitting, and cooking… Serves as Executive Committee member with the Live for the Cause Foundation… Odds and Ends: Favourite motto: “Go big or go home!”… Pregame routine involves listening to music…
