Veteran defensive catcher Jason Sanford was added to the Men’s National Team Athlete Pool in 2008 and went on to win a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2012 Pan American Championship in Colombia. He also played in the 2013 ISF Men’s World Championship in New Zealand and the 2014 Pan American Championship in Argentina, helping Canada to bronze at the latter. At the Canadian Championships, he was named to the 2007 all-star team and won a silver medal in 2012 as a member of the Kitchener Hallman Cubs.

Family: Parents Dale and Lelia Sanford… Older brother Tim… Older sister Jacqueline… Wife Jenny Sanford… Daughter Jessa (born March 2009)… Getting into the Sport: Started playing softball at age 8… Grew up around ball fields watching his father play… Has wanted to play for Team Canada since watching the 2004 ISF World Championship on TV; still owns VHS copy of the tournament… Outside Interests: Earned Fish and Wildlife Technician diploma in 1997 and a Conservation Enforcement diploma in 1999… Enjoys playing hockey, hunting, fishing, camping, going to the beach with family… Works for Michelin…
