GETTING TO KNOW…
- Olympic dream began as a child while growing up in Seoul, South Korea, after trying synchronized swimming for the first time
- South Korea’s synchronized swimming program was not structured, and she convinced her parents and her brother to move the entire family to Canada, arriving in Vancouver in 1998 and moving to Calgary in 1999
- Gained Canadian citizenship in 2001 and was named to the national B team in 2003 and 2004, and the A team in 2005 and 2006
