In the past couple of years Joëlle Numainville has established herself as Canada’s top female road racer. In April 2012 she earned her first World Cup podium with a third place finish at the famed Tour of Flanders. She followed that up with a 12th place finish in the road race at her first Olympic Games in 2012, making her the top Canadian in the event. Numainville began her cycling career as a mountain biker before switching to the road. She is studying finance at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM).
