Team Canada Medal Count
Biography
The daughter of two-time Olympic silver medallist Sandy Goss, Kennedy Goss is starting to make her own mark as an elite swimmer. At Rio 2016 she swam in the heats of the 4x200m freestyle relay, which went on to win the bronze medal. That made the Gosses Canada’s first father-daughter combo of Olympic medallists. In 2015 she made her debut at the FINA World Championships, anchoring the 4x200m freestyle relay. She had qualified for the national team with her third place finish in the 200m freestyle at the 2015 Canadian Trials. Competing for the Indiana Hoosiers, Goss had an extremely successful first NCAA season in 2014-15, being named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Big Ten Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-Conference and two-time All-American in the 200 freestyle and 4×200 freestyle relay. She was also part of the Big Ten Champion 4×200 freestyle relay that set a conference record. At the 2013 Canada Games, Goss walked away with seven medals, including five gold (200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 4x100m freestyle relay, 4x200m freestyle relay, 4x100m medley relay) and two bronze (100m freestyle, 50m backstroke).
