Lyndon Suvanto
Biography
Lyndon Suvanto represented Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championship where he split the goalkeeping duties and made 11 saves on 33 shots as Canada finished 22nd. He has also played with a club in Skanderborg, Denmark.
PERSONAL
Family: Parents Tracy and Carol Suvanto… Older brother Ryan, older sister Vanessa… Getting into the Sport: Started playing handball at age 14… He was watching his brother in a high school tournament when their goalkeeper contracted a stomach virus and was unable to play… After the player who replaced him didn’t fare well, the team jokingly said “Let’s throw Lyndon in net”… He did surprisingly well in his first go and was invited to try out with the Alberta team… Outside Interests: Graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology with a diploma in Radio and Television Arts in 2013… Enjoys playing video games, working out, hanging out with friends, slow pitch, camping, travelling… Works in gas line construction… Odds and Ends: Favourite motto: “Just livin”… Collects shot glasses from his travels… Inspired by teammate Dan Devlin who gives his all every game and is dedicated to growing handball in Canada… Nickname: Lyndo, Lyndog…
