Madison Copiak
Biography
Madison Copiak has limited international experience, but she was part of the team that finished fifth at the 2014 Pan American Championships, helping Canada qualify a full squad for TORONTO 2015. She achieved a career highlight with her fourth place finish in the all-around at the 2015 Elite Canada meet. She also finished fourth in the all-around at the 2015 Canadian Championships. Copiak has aspired to represent Canada after seeing the opportunities that older girls at her gym had to compete internationally and watching national team members at various meets.

Family: Parents Kenneth and Donna Copiak… Older twin sisters Vanessa and Richelle… Getting into the Sport: Started gymnastics at age 3… Is drawn to the sport’s excitement, energy, fast pace, and new challenges every day… Outside Interests: Enrolled in Grade 12 at the National Sports School… Enjoys reading, art, going on walks… Odds and Ends: Nickname: Maddie… Inspired by teammate Ellie Black who competed at London 2012 after coming back from an injury and continues to build her presence on the international scene… Leaves an excessive amount of time to get ready for a competition because she doesn’t like to be rushed and has to check her bag multiple times… Favourite motto: “Two things define you: Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything”…
