Megan Gurski

Biography

Megan GurskiMegan Gurski’s first National Team experience came as a member of the U-16 Youth Team at the 2009 Youth World Cup. At the U-16 Canadian Championships in 2009 she was voted to the All-Star team. The next year she was named Top Pitcher. Gurski joined the Senior National Team in 2014 for the Canadian Open, ISF World Championships, and World Cup of Softball where they won silver. After playing her freshman season at Southern Utah University, mostly at second base, she transferred during her sophomore year to Jefferson College where she was primarily a pitcher and went 26-3 with a 0.81 ERA and 272 strikeouts. In 2014 she transferred to the University of Evansville where she led the team in hits (54). She also started 23 games as a pitcher, posting a 9-13 record with a 3.63 ERA and 121 strikeouts.

Family: Parents Barry and Corina Gurski… Younger sister Rebecca Gurski… Getting into the Sport: Started playing softball at age 4 or 5… Her father played so she was always around the sport… Grew up dreaming of playing for Canada one day… School: Southern Utah University (2012), Jefferson College (2013), University of Evansville (2014), currently at the Academy of Learning College in Saskatoon for a 10-month course in Interior Decorating… Odds and Ends: 2009 Saskatchewan Softball Female Athlete of the Year…
