Veronika Bauer

Biography

Veronika Bauer competed in her third Olympic Winter Games at Vancouver 2010 where she was the only Canadian female aerialist to qualify. She posted a 15th place finish in the aerials event, after finishing 12th at Turin 2006 and 10th at Salt Lake City 2002.

Bauer has competed at five FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, winning the gold medal in 2001 in Whistler and the silver medal in 2003 in Deer Valley.

GETTING TO KNOW…

Became involved in freestyle skiing because of background in competitive gymnastics and trampoline … Bauer was Ontario trampoline champion in 1994 … Her nickname is Little Vee … Despite her sport of choice, Bauer said she does not enjoy winter. In fact, her dream is to live on a beach.
