Eric Peters
Biography
- Won silver in men’s individual recurve at the 2023 World Archery Championships, Canada’s best ever result in the event
- Achieved a career-high world ranking of 13th in September 2023
- Earned his career-best Archery World Cup individual result in April 2023, placing fifth in Antalya; also reached the quarterfinals at the World Cup in August 2023 that served as the Olympic test event for Paris 2024, placing seventh overall
- Was a double medallist at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games; won bronze in men’s individual recurve after losing to teammate and eventual champion Crispin Duenas in the semifinals; had upset world record holder and reigning world champion Brady Ellison in the quarterfinals; won gold in men’s team recurve with Duenas and Brian Maxwell
- Competed at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games, winning bronze in the international mixed team event and placing 17th in the individual competition
- Competed at his first World Archery Championships in 2019, where he posted his international competition best score of 683 out of 720 in the qualification round
- Competed in his first career Archery World Cup in April 2019
- Finished fifth in individual and team recurve at the 2022 Pan American Championships

Getting into the Sport: Took up the sport at age 11, because of his interest in fantasy books and games… Began competing at age 13… Outside Interests: Enjoys Magic the Gathering, rock climbing, video games, and cooking while not training… Graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in 2022…
