Allie Surrette

Biography

Allie Surrette began sailing in the Optimist, a popular youth boat, in the RNSYS and then SMSC junior sailing programs. At the age of eight, she became a member of the race team COAST, where she was first teammates with current sailing partner, Max Flinn. In the Optimist, Surrette competed in two North American Championships, a South American Championships and a European Championships. After aging out of the class, Surrette began sailing 420s, where she teamed up with Ali ten Hove. Together they competed at the 2013 ISAF Youth World Championships and then continued on to race 470s on the world circuit. In 2018, Surrette and Flinn teamed up and tried out the new foiling Nacra 17 for the first time. Instantly hooked by the speed, they competed in their first World Cup Series events in 2019.
