Étienne Lalonde-Turbide competed in his first Olympic Games in London 2012 and finished in 21st place in the men’s foil event.

At the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico, Lalonde-Turbide had his most successful international showing to date, after finishing second in the men’s foil team event and seventh in individual. He would also garner additional experience by qualifying for the World Championships. In 2010, he had a top-20 result at the World Championships in the foil team event while also competing individually. He earned 12th in the same event at the 2009 World Championships.

At the 2008 Pan American Championships, Lalonde-Turbide competed on the silver medal winning team and finished seventh individually. He also won bronze at the 2008 Canadian Championships.

Lalonde-Turbide got his first taste of fencing at 10 years old.
