Flavie Aumond

Biography

Flavie Aumond made her Olympic debut at Beijing 2022 where she finished 19th in the women’s aerials event. A month later, she was crowned world junior champion in her first appearance at the FIS Junior World Championships.

Aumond has been a member of Freestyle Canada’s next gen national team since 2020. She began competing internationally in 2017-18 on the Nor-Am Cup circuit, earning a silver medal in her very first event in December 2017 at the Utah Olympic Park. She added a bronze medal in Le Relais, Quebec towards the end of the season. 

Aumond competed in her first World Cup events during the 2020-21 season, finishing as high as 16^th on three separate occasions. She returned to the World Cup circuit in 2021-22 and broke into the top-10 for the first time when she finished sixth on her home hill in Le Relais in January. A week later, she finished fifth in Deer Valley for her career-best World Cup result.  

Aumond won the aerials gold medal at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. 

A Little More About Flavie

Getting into the Sport: Started skiing at age 6… After trying snowboard when she was 9, decided to follow her younger brother into freestyle skiing when she was 11… Trained in aerials, moguls, and slopestyle but was most at ease in aerials… At age 14 was recruited to the Quebec provincial aerials team by coach Nicolas Fontaine…
