Lea Wachowich
Biography
Lea Wachowich has wanted to represent Canada since she won gold at the 1995 Canada Winter Games with Dorothy Ludwig in the air pistol pair event. At the 2015 Pan Am Games, she finished fourth in the 25m pistol for the best result of her career since she began competing internationally in 2001. That was her third appearance at the Pan Am Games, after competing at Rio 2007 and Guadalajara 2011. Wachowich’s other multi-sport competition experience also includes the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She has also appeared at two editions of the ISSF World Championships and multiple ISSF World Cup events.

Getting into the Sport: Started shooting at age 12 when she was given the opportunity to try out for the Canada Games… Outside Interests: Earned Bachelor of Food Science in 2007 from the University of Alberta… Works as a Food Safety Specialist… Enjoys hiking, geocaching, exploring the outdoors… Odds and Ends: Favourite motto: “Live your dreams don’t dream your life”… Inspired by 1984 Olympic gold medallist Linda Thom… Has a good luck cookie that she puts on her shooting table which keeps her smiling… Always travels with a book for the “hurry up and wait” moments… Uses high energy music to get her in the right mood and zone…
