Patrick Hussey

Biography

Patrick Hussey has represented Canada twice at the World Aquatics Championships, in 2022 and 2023. He earned a spot on his first national team when he won the men’s 200m butterfly at the 2022 Canadian Swimming Trials. Following his world championship debut, he competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, his first international multi-sport competition, where he won bronze with the mixed 4x100m medley relay.

Hussey earned a return trip to the World Aquatics Championships in 2023 when he finished second in the 200m freestyle at the Canadian Swimming Trials. Hussey had first competed at the Canadian Swimming Trials in 2019. At Olympic Trials for Tokyo 2020, he placed third in the 200m butterfly.

Hussey swims collegiately for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He competed at the 2022 and 2023 NCAA Championships in the 4×200-yard freestyle relay.  Hussey won two silver medals in the 400m freestyle and 1500m freestyle for Team Quebec at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
