Stephen Calkins
Biography
- Won two bronze medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after swimming in the preliminary heats of the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay and mixed 4x100m freestyle relay; reached the semifinals in the 50m and 100m freestyle events
- Was called to fill a spot on the 2022 Commonwealth Games team just two days after he had decided to retire from swimming, quickly changing those plans
- First represented Canada at the 2015 World Junior Swimming Championships
- Competed in his first World Cup event in October 2022
- Finished fifth in the 50m and 100m freestyle events at the 2023 Canadian Trials
