Biography
Sandrine Mainville is one of Canada’s most reliable relay swimmers, winning two medals at the 2015 Pan Am Games, including gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay in Pan Am record time. She also swam leadoff for the 4x100m freestyle relay team that finished fifth in national record time at the 2015 FINA World Championships and anchored the sixth place 4x100m medley relay. At Rio 2016, Mainville swam leadoff for the 4x100m freestyle relay that won bronze in national record time. Mainville earned her first senior national team nomination a year after just missing a spot on the 2012 Olympic team. After winning 4x100m freestyle relay bronze and finishing fourth in the 100m freestyle at the 2013 Universiade she made her world championship debut. In 2014 Mainville competed at both the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships, winning a pair of bronze medals in the 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x100m medley relay in Glasgow where she also advanced to two individual finals.
