Marie-Christine Lapointe

Biography

Marie-Christine Lapointe and her partner Amanda Harnett have been competing together internationally since 2018. They brought home a bronze medal from a NORCECA event in Martinique, their first international tournament as a team. In February 2019 they posted a fifth-place finish at an FIVB World Tour two-star event in Cambodia.

Getting into the Sport: Started beach volleyball recreationally in between indoor seasons in university; visited the beach at Ashbridges Bay in Toronto and fell in love with the magnificent view and the number of courts… Outside Interests: Enjoys teaching, because she loves helping others, working as a team, and learning from the youth… Odds and Ends: Her first language is French; she learned English at McGill University, which was a complete immersion for her. In fact, her first question after the first anatomy class was: what is a lung?
